BLOG: HG 1/60 Laevatein (Ver. IV)

HG 1/60 Laevatein (Ver. IV) In what appears to be brand re-categorizing, Bandai Spirits Hobby has updated their site listing for the 1/60 Laevatein kit and it’s now listed as the HG 1/60 Laevatein (Ver. IV). In actuality, nothing probably changed and they just placed the High Grade moniker to the kit — to which it actually is.

The listing has also updated release information, with the kit slated to be available in October 2018 at the price listed below. No details of features or accessories are given though if the previous kits are of any indication, this will likely be a great kit nonetheless.

BLOG: MODEROID 1/60 Savage Crossbow

MODEROID 1/60 Savage Crossbow Taking a break from all announcement from Shizuoka Hobby Show, Good Smile Company is also riding the train that is Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory with their own 1/60 scale model kits as part of the MODEROID line.

They aren’t taking any of the more popular designs at the moment as Bandai Spirits has them covered, instead they’ll release a 1/60 scale Savage Crossbow which looks to be a Savage in Arbalest colors. Haven’t seen the latest Invisible Victory episode as of yet though the solicitation says that this is to be used by the main protagonist — Sousuke Sagara. And again, at 1/60 scale, it should fit perfectly with the Bandai Spirits kits.

BLOG: Shizuoka Hobby Show 2018 – 1/60 Laevatein (IV)

Shizuoka Hobby Show 2018 - 1/60 Laevatein (IV) Shizuoka Hobby Show 2018 is ongoing from May 10 to 13 at Twin Messe Shizouka and features spring and summer hobby merchandise displays from various manufacturers. [Official Website]

Alongside the Crossbone Gundam units, the Laevatein is probably one of the more merchandised designs that hasn’t appeared in an animation production.

That will now change as it’s going to appear in Full Matal Panic! Invisible Victory and so, Bandai Spirits Hobby (formerly Bandai Hobby) will be releasing a 1/60 model kit similar to Arbalest and Gernsback. No release information has been given though it will assume to come with everything seen in this display.

BLOG: Box Art Extravaganza IV

Box Art Extravaganza IV First and foremost, nope — these box art posts aren’t switching from awesome German numbering to Roman numerals. "IV" here represents Invisible Victory as in Full Metal Panic – Invisible Victory, the fourth animated series in the franchise. As previously mentioned, the initial wave of 1/60 kits will consist of three kits — Arbalest, Gernsback, and Gernsback Commander Type with their packaging style as seen.

It’s still a puzzle how Bandai determines if a kit should be ‘graded’ or not. Case in point the Pacific Rim Uprising kits being given the HG treatment while these ones aren’t. That said, these kits do have better part separation than High Grades, hence the probable omission.

There’s also a question of whether the line will cover more designs as Invisible Victory is only a 12 episode series and is set to premiere on April 13, 2018.

BLOG: Plastic Crack – Bandai 1/60 AV-98 Ingram

This is Plastic Crack – posts, usually of video reviews, that continuously stimulate the collector passion through demonstration of a figure’s features. More importantly, these mainly comprise of items in the CATALOGUE wishlist.

Tamashii Nations just announced that they are finally expanding the ROBOT Damashii line to include the Labors from Patlabor. While really appreciated, it made this collector think of what to do with the purchased 1/60 kits Bandai reissued thanks to The Next Generation —PATLABOR—. Whether or not to ditch them and just get the ROBOT Damashii versions.

Someone fortunately did a recent build of the 1/60 Ingram kit and in the process, inspired this collector to go with the kits instead of getting the upcoming figures.
