“Graham Gundam” is Here! Premium Bandai Exclusive RG Gundam Exia Repair IV

As much as a vocal chunk of the fanbase requests a 2.0 of the RG Gundam Exia, it seems like Bandai Hobby isn’t keen on replacing it anytime soon. Especially as we’re seeing yet another use of the mold following the RG Gundam Avalanche Exia’ with the RG Gundam Exia Repair IV from Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Festival 10 Re:vision, an audio reading as part of the Gundam 00 10th Anniversary celebration.

It is an official story set after A Wakening of the Trailblazer and tells the aftermath of the ELS Conflict. While the ELS have left, the conflict created instabilities with the ELS-assimilated humans. Grahan Aker, who was saved by the ELS following his sacrifice returns as a Gundam Meister for Celestial Being where he’s given the Gundam Exia Repair IV, which he gives the nickname “Graham Gundam.”

This version of Gundam Exia retains the seven-blade configuration of the original, although a good number of them were prototypes for the GN Sword V used by the 00 Qan[T]. It’s also notable for its rather exposed left arm, which has technologies meant for Sixth Generation Gundams. Despite the lack of external armor, it is still very tough and combat ready.

As mentioned, the Repair IV utilizes the GN Shield similar to the 00 Qan[T]. That said, I’m not sure if the kit will just repurpose the RG 00 Qan[T]’s or it will be a new tooling altogether.

Its primary weapon is the GN Tachi, named after the Japanese sword and is probably a leftover of Graham’s stint as “Mister Bushido.” It’s based on the GN Sword V of the 00 Qan[T] although I don’t believe it’s able to combine with the other blades as the GN Bayonets, GN Battle Swords, and GN Battle Blades don’t function as bits. They still look cool with the clear parts though.

And here’s everything that comes with this set.

Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting Bandai Hobby to announce this kit as I was quite ready to buy GBC Workshop Gundam Exia Repair IV which they announced previously and is likely based on the Metal Build version. The unlicensed kit does have advantages of being a lot cheaper and arguably more stable as the Real Grade is still using the same base kit. But I will give Bandai Hobby the benefit of the doubt for this one and wil pick the Real Grade version.
