I was supposed to start building the HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Destroy Mode] right after completing the Unicorn Mode kit. But both bad weather and waiting for paints to arrive delayed that plan for a couple of weeks. This gave me the chance to update one of my recent builds.
If you remember the post-credits scene for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe (READ: More Universal Century Trauma-Dumping: My Unsolicited Thoughts on “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe” (2026)), the Xi Gundam took damage to the head and revealed a more traditional Gundam face once the damaged armor was purged.

Thanks to the geniuses at Bandai Hobby, they went and did a re-release of the HGUC Xi Gundam plus the new head and other parts like the Beam Rifle barrel holder. While I didn’t want to build another Xi Gundam, I did want the new parts. I would normally go to my preferred Japanese proxy site to try and bid on these. But I got lazy and just bought the whole kit and plucked out the new parts. It also came with additional wrist connectors to be used for the third-party manipulator parts I got.
The rest will be going to the spare parts box. I resealed the box and tucked it away for whenever I’ll need another set of Xi Gundam spare parts.
