I can’t tell if this is just the economics of scale working really well for the folks at Hiya Toys, or it’s just that easy to plan and release Rockman X figures once you’ve started making them. This is because less than a month after announcing the Exquisite Basic Rockman X Ultimate Armor figure, they have started solicitations for its immediate follow up. I’m not that familiar with these armor configurations to know if these are being released according to power scaling, but the next figure up for release is the Exquisite Basic Rockman X Max Armor.
In terms of lore, the Max Armor enhances X’s baseline statistics and all around combat capabilities. Design-wise, it is very similar to the Falcon Armor at a glance, so you can easily mix the two if you don’t know what to look for. Which would be that energy core at the central chest section made from clear green plastic.
Although we’ve yet to see how articulated their vanilla Rockman X figure is, I assume all the variants, including the Max Armor over here, would have the same range of motion. Couple this with the weapons and accessories the figure comes with and you will have plenty of display options for this guy.
In addition to replacement face and hand parts, the Max Armor comes with the X-Buster with magnetic light up features via the Hiya Toys badge that’s also included. Two Z-Saber effect parts, along with the hilt itself are also included.
I won’t be surprised if Hiya Toys announces another Rockman X figure solicitation within the next week or two as there are a few armor designs they haven’t included in their lineup. That’s assuming their intent is to really cover all the armor variations. I have been putting up pre-orders for these Hiya Toys figures despite not owning a single one, purely based on the positive reviews I’ve seen online. Here’s hoping these all turn out to be true since these are not cheap, but they’re definitely cheaper than their Japanese figure counterparts.
