BLOG: METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Strike Freedom Gundam

METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Strike Freedom Gundam Tamashii Nations has found a good way to create second versions of previous ROBOT SPIRITS figures without actually doing a second version via the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS line. Following the 00 Raiser is another of the older THE ROBOT SPIRITS releases, Strike Freedom Gundam.

Unlike the original figure, the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS version is actually quite tempting to get, thanks to the die-cast content and how its proportions isn’t as gaudy as the first release. It also includes parts to deploy the Dragoon binders although no ‘Wings of Light’ effect parts, as well as an elegant-looking display base that’s consistent with other METAL ROBOT SPIRITS releases.

BLOG: Today’s Robits – First Quarter 2017

Today's Robits - First Quarter 2017 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s quarter’s hobby loot.

This will be the first batch of three loot-related posts, all piled up because of procrastination. This will be mostly Gunpla, starting with these two. Aside from the Strike Freedom, more notable here is the 1/144 Devil Gundam, a kit that has been out of production for quite a while now. So much so that its price has increased in the aftermarket.

It is from the old 1/144 G Gundam line so don’t expect anything amazing in terms of engineering but regardless, it is the Devil Gundam,

BLOG: HGCE Strike Freedom Gundam – Straight Build Preview

HGCE Strike Freedom Gundam - Straight Build Preview Having built the old HG Strike Freedom Gundam kit last June, it is of utmost curiosity to see how the build process differs from its predecessor, especially in the painting department.

Which is exactly what this straight build from Dengeki Hobby is showing. On the get go, and similar to the HGCE Freedom Gundam, the beam rifles have better part separation with only the blue sections needing paint. Same goes for the leg vents and gold bits on the wing binders.

Hammered on this point multiple times already, but it’s still interesting how none of the released images show the DRAGOON System deployed. Will this be another case of P-Bandai exclusive Wings of Light effect parts?

BLOG: HGCE Strike Freedom Gundam – Box Art

HGCE Strike Freedom Gundam - Box Art Can only post this kind of stuff thanks to a business trip running for a couple of weeks. Yeah

Anyway, Bandai has released the box arts for their upcoming November kits which include the HGCE Strike Freedom Gundam and, as clearly seen, it is quite colorful.

Staring with the HG IBO Gundam Barbatos Lupus, Bandai has been placing English translations of the Japanese text on both the box and the construction manual, which is very much appreciated. Box art aside, they’re still not showing the DRAGOON bits deployed. It will be odd if they take that gimmick away from this new High Grade given the old one had it.

Kind of far fetched, but here’s hoping that they make the Destiny Impulse before releasing the inevitable Destiny Gundam.

BLOG: Today’s Robits – Third Quarter 2016 (Part 1)

Today's Robits - Third Quarter 2016 This is Today’s Robits – posts that showcase CATALOGUE-related acquisitions for the entire duration of the covered period. In other words, it’s all about this month’s quarter’s hobby loot.

Today’s Robits is supposed to be a monthly post featurette but personal shenanigans happened and it became quarterly, at least for this period. These pictures were also shot for quite a while now (hence this build) but wasn’t able to edit them until now. So yeah.

Anyway, the release of the RG 00 Qan[T] also meant Bandai reissuing some High Grade GUNDAM 00 kits. Which adds more to the bunch of Gundam 00 kits already in the backlog. That said, these purchases aren’t just random ones as seen after the jump.
