Hiya Toys has been quite aggressive with their Rockman X / Mega Man X release pipeline. Rockman X is set for a Q4 2026 release, and yet three more figures have been announced since then, with the latest pre-order opening for the Exquisite Basic Rockman X Ultimate Armor figure.
I want to reiterate that I’m not knowledgeable with the lore behind this armor, or Rockman in general. But I have to admit, this one looks great with the translucent blue armor pieces that show the internal mechanics. And nothing invokes the “ultimate” moniker better than having black and gold accents all over your armor.
A standard feature of Rockman X figures is the energy cannon that can be mounted to replace either of its arms. It comes with an LED light up feature that can be magnetically activated by interacting with the Hiya Toys logo badge. The light up feature cycles between flash, pulsating, and steady modes. In addition, a translucent green blast effect part is also included for more display options.
This figure also supports switching between two forms via the way the backpack unit and the wing sets are attached. Both the normal and Nova Strike form configurations can be recreated with this figure. And yes, a display stand is included to display X using the Ultimate Armor in flight.
Speaking of which, here’s everything that comes inside the package. Along with the aforementioned accessories are replacement hands and face plates with multiple expressions.
I’m not exactly the most thrilled when diving into a new rabbit hole, but these Hiya Toys figures look really good to pass up. Not to mention the *relatively* cheaper price when you compare to similar figures released by Sen-Ti-Nel or Tamashii Nations. Given that I have both Rockman X and the Falcon Armor already in pre-order, it doesn’t make sense to skip this one.
Oh well.
