Progress has been steady for the HGUC Xi Gundam build this week. My usual build order is from the top to bottom, starting with the head, torso, and arm units. But for this kit, I decided to proceed with everything sans the arms and the large shoulder armors. Basically the head, torso and the leg units to immediately see how large the Xi Gundam is when compared to other standard 1/144 scale kits.
I managed to complete the main body and both legs over the weekend. Putting it side-by-side with the HG GQuuuuuuX, as seen above, reinforces the volume difference between the Xi Gundam and your typical 1/144 scale kit. And that doesn’t count the additional volume coming from the Minovsky Flight unit built in the shoulder armors. Weather permitting, I am targeting to complete as much as I can this week, and if not, by the next.
