It’s that time of the year once again where local toy and hobby enthusiasts gather for the annual ToyCon, which is branded for this year as TOYCON Nexus ✕ PopLife Festival 2026. In the last couple of years, I’ve not purchased anything substantial apart from little trinkets or hobby supplies. But I do have catch targets for this year, and I was able to get at least two out of the three, and then some.

The kits I intended to get were the recent BE 1/144 The Round Table Knights releases from SNAA. I was already planning on getting Furious Warhammer – Galahad, but I also needed to catch up on Soul Speak – Lamorak and Iron Sickle – Kay. I wasn’t able to find the last one with prices I’m willing to pay for so I’ll just track it separately.
The next kit is more of a curiosity piece, and I’m not planning on building it.

This is the 1/144 Build Strike Gundam released in late 2025 as part of the localized release of Gundam Build Fighters in China. This came along with Chinese-exclusive repackages of some HGBF kits, but my main curiosity is with this guy. However, my main curiosity is with this peculiar kit, as many were wondering if this is based on the Entry Grade Strike Gundam.
Upon checking the runners, it’s almost but not yet there with the modern Entry Grade standard. But it is a far cry from the old caravan kits, or even the Gundam SEED 1/144 scale “Collection Series” and the Gundam 00 First Grade releases. But as mentioned, I’m not building this guy and I just picked it up as a novelty piece, especially given the better HGBF version. Although this kit is also compatible with the HGBC accessories.
That’s mainly it for the kits I bought at ToyCon, and I will cap this post with some photos I took from the show floor. Most of the displays are stuff on display almost every year so here are what looked mostly new.
