I was initially targeting to complete this last weekend, but I had a little mishap late last week, so I was only able to resume building the kit by Sunday. Regardless, the HGCE Destiny Gundam is finally complete, and I can confidently say that this kit is the blueprint of what Bandai Spirits now calls the “SEED Action System.”
As I mentioned in my previous updates, I went into this kit after building three from the old HG Gundam SEED line, and the difference in basically all aspects is mind-blowing. Chief among these is the articulation where joint assemblies were very well engineered to replicate the very dynamic poses mobile suits from the Gundam SEED series are known for. Then of course, there’s the part separation. Granted this will vary from one design to another (looking at you Rising Freedom), but for what they’re able to do in 2019, I am really impressed.
For the next kit, I was hoping my HGCE Rising Freedom would arrive this week, but it seems that might happen next week. So, I’ll take a quick breather this weekend following a whole month of just building SEED. I’m thinking of putting the photobooth out as I haven’t done so since 2024 started.
