Complex Heads are Complex. Work-in-Progress #1: HG Gundam Barbatos Lupus/Lupus Rex Dual Build

A couple of weeks after finishing the digits for both the HG Gundam Barbatos Lupus and Lupus Rex, I have managed to actually start building the kits. And in my typical fashion, I start with building the head and torso units. One thing I really liked about these two kits is how the colors for the head units are from actual plastic pieces and not stickers. This also meant the parts are tiny as heck, but if handled carefully, they’ll look great out of the box.

Outside of the heads, the other parts are standard fare that did require painting. And for this part of the dual build, the backpacks are the main culprit. I did appreciate this though as painting the head is much harder than the other parts — nothing that a good masking job should take care of.

And these are the parts I’m targeting to build next so that what’s left are the easier ones. Hopefully, I can finish these two within the month. Then, I could follow up with the G-Self or some older HGUC or HG Gundam SEED kit.
