Let’s first take a break from all those Mecha Smile Impact announcements to just appreciate this kit and how it’s actually finished.
After starting this kit in 2019, the HGUC Narrative Gundam A-Packs is finally complete. It really feels good that I don’t have any pending builds left unfinished as of today. One of the things I’ve always wanted to try upon completing this guy is to check if it can stand on its own without using the included display, like in a neutral standing pose.
And as you can see here, it can stand, well, with the help of that acrylic cube you can see at the back. Those four fuel tanks just throw the balance of this kit off center. It also highlights one of its weaker points — the hip assembly. Those heavy leg units rely on the polycap hips for stability, which isn’t the best thing in this kit. It can still stand though, it’s just not the most stable.
The other thing I need to think sooner or later is how I’m supposed to take photos of this kit. While I do have a fairly sizable photo box, I’m still not sure if this kit would fit. But that’s another problem for another day. Anyway, with the slew of MODEROID kits revealed this weekend, I think I know which kits I wanted to build next. Hint, it’s yet another double build.
