Continuing Bandai Spirits’ barrage of solicitations, we’re focusing the two Gundam Wing kits that were previously announced, and confirms that Wufei will be always getting the short stick. Oh Wufei.
Next getting the modern HGAC treatment is Gundam Deathscythe, considered by many to be a fan-favorite thanks to its more unique design. I wasn’t intending on getting all the original 5 Gundams, case in point the HGAC Gundam Heavyarms, but it looks like this guy looks pretty cool with its modern proportions and better articulation. It does appear to be fairly color accurate out-of-the-box sans small details that are often omitted in this scale.
The solicitations also mention some of its features, mostly being new joint assemblies for better articulation. For starters, the shoulder polycaps can now slide forward to compliment the existing outward ball joint hinge, allowing for holding weapons using both hands. The knee armor also doubles as a lock that adds a deeper bend when released. Both shoulder exhausts and thrusters also move to accommodate outward arm movement without any restrictions.
For weapons, it comes with its signature Beam Scythe and two beam effect parts, one larger than the other. The Buster Shield is also accurate to the show with both blades opening in conjunction to insert another beam effect part to complete the attack.
Overall, I have a good chance of getting this kit, and the eventual HGAC Shenlong Gundam (yes Wufei, I’m not forgetting you) though I’ll also have a good chance of just skipping Heavyarms.
