Our end of the woods had an extended period of inclement weather, but it seems all is getting better now. Which means my annual hobby hiatus is finally ending so here’s a perfect catchup of upcoming kits of interest… to me.

Patlabor fans are having a great year in 2026 thanks to several projects, including Patlabor EZY, and the game Patlabor: The Case Files. We also got several new and reissued kits that bring more Patlabor designs into modern model kit engineering standards. One of them is Good Smile Company’s MODEROID Python. While I’m not the most versed in Patlabor lore, a quick research reveals the Python is supposedly the predecessor of the Ingram, which makes me curious to display both kits side-by-side.
Also, an amazing package illustration by Hidetaka Tenjin as always.
Next up are the packages from the opening wave of 30 Minutes Missions Daemon X Machina TS kits. And you have to hand it to the designers from the 30 Minutes Label folks for dishing out better-looking package designs than the mainline Bandai Hobby brands.

I totally forgot these kits from Titanic Scion are coming out towards the end of the month. The package design itself is unique, ditching the usual background illustration behind the mecha and going for a plain solid color with close ups on the “X” on the left side. The pending release also meant Bandai Hobby has updated the solicitations with actual model kit photos instead of CG renders.
I currently have both kits on pre-order at HobbyLink Japan. I did plan on canceling The Unspeakable, but HLJ’s recent pre-order policies didn’t allow it so I’m expecting payment notices for both kits this weekend. Unlike Armored Core VI or the original Daemon X Machina game, the Arsenal units in Titanic Scion are more exosuit-scaled machines. They are still non-scale kits and they size up well with other 30MM releases, but do remember this detail, just in case.
