It was December 2025 when the announcement of a new Code Geass animated production, which appears to a departure from all the previous installments, dropped. Fast forward to September 2026 and the first teaser trailer to Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal has finally dropped.
Upon watching the teaser, you will immediately realize the different setting this series takes place, and it draws heavily from the isekai aesthetic prevalent in contemporary seasonal anime. We also see our “C.C.” analogue who’s apparently just a head. Not sure what her story is though being just a head triggers a good amount of curiosity.
What’s more, we are going to see Knightmare Frame-esque action despite the medieval setting. I guess these are the “Agarmatha” they were talking about in the initial reveals. I’ve taken screengrabs of those seen in the trailer.
We see two in the teaser, a white and a crimson unit fighting each other. They also have a rather organic aesthetic instead of the very mechanical designs from previous installments. They do look interesting and I’ll probably get kits of these since I’m sure Bandai Hobby will be making them.
While we don’t get much outside of some visuals, we do get confirmation of its 2027 release date. We don’t know exactly when in 2027, but having both a new Gundam and Code Geass series in the same year is very exciting.
