As I mentioned following the completion of the HGUC Xi Gundam, I will start building the HGUC Unicorn Gundam [Unicorn Mode], mainly in time for the closure of the Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue in Odaiba, Tokyo. I’m not considering this as the formal start of this build since my intent is to check what kind of panel lining would I like best for this kit. Given the geometry and sheer amount of panel lines this design has, it would be easy to go overboard when inking them, which might not give the best results.
I decided to go with a lighter shade of gray for the white armor parts and dark gray for the gray armor parts. I did consider using red panel lining for the white armor but I remembered that the Psycho Frame is deactivated in Unicorn Mode, hence the red seams won’t make sense. I might do it when I build the Destroy Mode kit after this.
Given the relative simplicity of both the kit and the actual design, I might be able to finish this guy in a couple of weeks, weather and everything else permitting.
