Today’s Robits: Supporting Local… Sort of

There are many mecha collectors who prefer their model kits and figures to be on the larger end of the spectrum, primarily due to their shelf presence. On the other hand, I’m on the opposite end of that spectrum with my preference leaning towards smaller “desktop scale” collectibles for their ease of handling and especially the lower cost. That’s not saying I don’t get larger figures, case in point the Soul of Chogokin GX-31V Voltes V (40th Anniversary) set from 2015.

I haven’t purchased another Soul of Chogokin release until most recently with this guy…

This is the Soul of Chogokin GX-118 Voltes V from Voltes V: Legacy. In case you’re not familiar, I hail from a country where Voltes V is very engrained in our pop culture psyche. So much so that a local company was able to successfully made a TOEI-approved and acknowledged live action version. And it is with this acknowledgement that this design was released under the Soul of Chogolin line.

I’ve been procrastinating for way too long on doing a proper photoshoot for GX-31V, and I have even less reasons to put off that shoot now that I also have GX-118.

Thoughts?
