I believe I’ve already said this same spiel in previous years, but the backlog doesn’t stop as the year changes, so we’re once again starting 2026 with packages of potential purchases (alliteration intended). Note that this is going to be updated as we get more packaging reveals throughout the month.
UPDATE: New package reveals added as of January 25.

I remember some time in 2025 when Bandai Spirits announced that we would be getting new kits from Gundam SEED DESTINY. And as much as I appreciate the HGCE Legend Gundam being released this month, I do believe there are a lot more mobile suits that also deserve the modern Gunpla treatment. But I digress.
I would’ve preferred the Providence Gundam getting a modern kit with the impact it had during the end of Gundam SEED, but the Legend Gundam did appear longer, not to mention the former already got an amazing Master Grade kit.

Following the conclusion of Mashin Creator Wataru, we’re back to the High Grade releases with HG Ryuoumaru from the original Wataru anime. They are definitely trickling the release of these kits, which I don’t really mind since I still have the previous Wataru High Grades on the backlog.
One thing I found interesting was that similar to the SD Gundam Sangokuden kits, these Wataru High Grades are being manufactured in China. In contrast, the cheaper Mashin Creator Wataru kits are still made in Japan, though it all boils down to the engineering at the end of the day.

And of course, the kit everyone and their grandmother are awaiting for, and that doesn’t include me by the way, the PG Unleashed Nu Gundam from Char’s Counterattack. I’ve seen both hype and trepidation because for one thing, it looks really good, as expected of any PG Unleashed kit. The trepidation comes, first and foremost, because of the price. Clocking at roughly $600 after all the taxes and tariffs, I can’t blame folks who’ll pass this kit up because of price tag. Not to mention the need to purchase a separate add-on kit for the LEDs.
Then there’s all the talk about it’s stability. While Bandai Spirits did release a video recently demonstrating how stable the internal frame is, it’s a different question when the Fin Funnels are added to the mix. The kit does come with a clear support arm for the Fin Funnels and based on a review I saw, you’ll definitely need that to display the Nu Gundam standing straight.
In any case, this is one of those event kits that many are looking forward to getting, so we’ll see in a week’s time how it turns out.

Original post follows.

It’s more or less one year ago when we got the HG GQuuuuuuX, as part of the theatrical release of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-. The included literature was very much barebones as to not reveal any plot details from the series which was released several months after. Now, we’re going full circle with the release of the HG GQuuuuuuX [Endymion Unit Awakened].
As many have expected, this is the same kit just with new parts to recreate how the GQuuuuuuX appeared in the last episode, when the Endymion Unit activates. These include new head parts for the open-mouth feature and those black hole-esque orbs that attach to the shoulder and leg armors.
Given the minor differences, many builders are leaning towards this getting kit as the definitive version of the GQuuuuuuX in 1/144 scale. There’s currently an abundance of stock for the original HG GQuuuuuuX so let’s see if we’ll see a decrease in demand for that kit.

2026 marks the final year of the GWX 30th Anniversary celebrations, and we’re finishing things off with After War Gundam X. It may not have the same impact as G Gundam and Gundam W, but it’s still a series worth celebrating. Heck, I will even say it has a better story overall among the three, despite having its run cut short.
While I’m not expecting much, they are opening the year with the Figure-rise Standard Tiffa Adill kit, and they’ve really come a long way from when they were releasing nightmare fuel-level kits. Besides Tiffa Adill, I believe Ennil El is another popular female character from the series, though I’m not really expecting a kit of her to be released, but let’s see.
For actual mobile suits, both the Virsago and Ashtaron deserve modern kits, so we’ll also see.

As mentioned above, I’m expecting updates to this post, especially from kits being released much later this month.
