I’ve been meaning to build the HG 00 Raiser and HG 00 Qan[T] as part of my lead Gundam build catch up efforts. The HG 00 Gundam, while not perfect, is notable for ushering what’s considered as the modern standard for High Grade kits. Especially when compared to the HG Gundam SEED, or even the Gundam 00 1st Season kits.
This isn’t the first time I’m building this kit as I did the Designer’s Colors version way back when. This build is meant to replace that one.
While the kit is remarkable for introducing several aspects still seen in modern High Grades, you would still need to do detail painting for complete color accuracy. Chief among these is the head unit which comes only in white along with some clear parts. Speaking of clear parts, all of them come in… well… clear. I mean they’re all colorless, which is good if you plan on fully painting the kit. But otherwise, the GN Condensers would need a splash of clear green to look good, same goes for the clear blue parts on the GN Sword II. Same goes for several recessed areas and detail parts that need to be in gray.
Given my familiarity with this kit, I am targeting to complete the 00 Gundam in the next couple of days, followed by the 0 Raiser towards the weekend.
