I wanted to post this around the weekend of the event but knowing my schedule, you get the idea. Regardless, I still wanted to get some thoughts on the Soul of Chogokin Voltes V from Voltes V: Legacy whose prototype was on display during the Tamashii Nations Spot Pop-Up a couple of weeks ago in Manila.
Tamashii Nations started their coverage for the live-action reimagining of Voltes V with The Robot Spirits figure in February. This, along Grendizer from Grendizer U were the first two in the new <Side SUPER> sub-line for the brand, focusing on fully articulated desktop-sized super robot figures previously covered by the now-defunct Super Robot Chogokin line.

There’s also the SMP [Shokugan Modeling Project] version if you prefer building kits, but most collectors would probably go with the Soul of Chogokin version. I do have the 40th Anniversary Soul of Chogokin Voltes V so I have justification to get the Voltes V: Legacy version. That said, we only have a prototype for now but it does look great, especially with the matte metallic finish.
Unfortunately, that’s all we have for this set as there were no other details provided during the event. The next confirmed Soul of Chogokin release is Shinkalion E5 Hayabusa so fans will probably have to wait a little longer.
