Earlier this week, Bandai Spriits made their new hobby item online announcements for Q3 of 2025, with most of them belonging to GQuuuuuuX. But the reveals aren’t stopping there as this weekend was the Gundam Next Future Final in Tokyo event, where they kicked off the Gunpla 45th anniversary campaign. Not only that, but they did a huge reveal that many got quite excited.

I’m talking about the Perfect Grade Unleashed 1/60 Nu Gundam, the second PG Unleashed kit following the RX-78-2 Gundam in 2020. This is quite an unprecedented release since compared to previous Perfect Grades, the Nu Gundam is significantly larger, not to mention its iconic Fin Funnels to it will be interesting how this kit will play out.
No release information was revealed but I’m inclined to think this might be a December 2025 release.

During the new kit announcements this week, five HG GQuuuuuuX placeholders also went up, along with their respective pre-orders. I’m not exactly a fan of this practice since I’m forced to pre-order all of them to guarantee a first batch purchase. And of all the designs so far, what I really want is the White Gundam. I’m inclined to think this might be New Product (A) or (B) judging by the price, with the other likely being the GQuuuuuuX version of the regular Zaku.
The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS version went up for pre-order along with the Red Gundam, and we now have a good look of the HG version during the Gundam Next Future Final event.

The HG White Gundam is a straight recolor of the Red Gundam minus all the bells and whistles Char and the Principality of Zeon added, most notable being the Alpha Psycommu system and weapons. And like everybody else, I’m already accustomed to the design and overall aesthetic, especially when compared to the rather polarizing lineart.

This particular shot highlights a couple of points for this kit. First is how the yellow “skirt armor” pieces are really linked to the upper legs, with each attached to the hips via a joint assembly that can shift. It’s also nice to see the Core Fighter at the back be molded in more colors than just one, these tend to get the short end of the stick for color separation.
And then there’s the head unit and you will notice how it’s very flushed to the yellow collar part. It also looks like the side “cheeks” of the head are linked together via the white neck joint. This stems from that one image of the Red Gundam where only the central part of the head is able to pivot up and down, with the sides providing the swivel motion. Not sure if I’m able to describe it perfectly but if you saw that image, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
But regardless, I’m still getting this guy.

We also got updates regarding the Gunpla to be sold at the Gundam Next Future Pavilion within Expo 2025 Osaka, chief being the 1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam [EX-001 G.L.R.S.S. Feather Unit]. We’re shown the packaging art for this kit and it really looks like a souped-up version of the “Moving Gundam” in Yokohama.
Speaking of this kit, they recently revealed a more environmentally friendly version. And no, I’m not talking about Ecopla.

Most of us are familiar with Ecopla, Gunpla made from recycled plastic and often come in black since they are recycled from various colors. To be sold at the same time as the previously revealed kits, and at the same price as the vanilla RX-78F00/E Gundam is the Chemical Recycling version.
“Chemical Recycling” is technology that breaks down used plastic and returns them to their raw forms, allowing for reuse in the same colors as you’d expect from a regularly-manufactured kit. I do have to commend Bandai Spirits for looking into several options for producing more environmentally friendly model kits. The most recent one being LIMEX used in the Gunpla-kun line.
And on that note, they’ve also kicked off the Gunpla 45th Anniversary celebration with a new campaign and new ambassadors. I’ve linked the videos below albeit without any subtitles.
You can also checkout the Gunpla 45th Anniversary special page here, check back often for announcements and upcoming events.
As Gundam Next Future Final in Tokyo wraps up tomorrow, it was also announced that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will premiere on April 8 on Nippon TV and its affiliates. Note that this is unlike the previous mainline Gundam series which were broadcasted on MBS and its premiere Sunday afternoon anime programming block. There’s also no word on whether this will be available internationally via the Gundam.Info YouTube channel, which I hope it would.
