Following some rather consistent pace, this HGCE Force Impulse Gundam double build is finally complete. With this, I have crossed out all HGCE kits in the backlog pile, at least until a couple more kits I’m expecting to arrive in the next couple of months. But until then, I can finally build something not SEED.

Bandai Spirits’ mantra when it comes into High Grades is to cut the budget on areas that won’t be seen. And for the Force Impulse, it’s basically the majority of the backpack assembly. From the Core Splendor to the Force Silhouette, and lastly to the Silhouette Flyer, most of the masking I did for these kits were for these areas.
As expected for the Force Silhouette, you will need to paint the red parts of the wings. But you will also need to paint the red inner side of the main thruster, and the gray sub-thrusters for the lower wings. Then there’s the Silhouette Flyer which also came in all white. The lower section and parts of the wings need to be in dark blue, the sensors of the “canopy” need to be in gray, and the rear portion connected to the thruster bell (which you also need to paint in gray) should be red. Not the most fun part of the build, but being the tail-end of this process pushed me to get them done.
I mentioned in the previous WIP that I’m getting tired of the SEED aesthetic from these builds and I really needed something different. And I believe, my latest set of acquisitions might just have what I’m looking for.
