Now Powered by Gunprimer (Not Sponsored): HGCE Force Impulse Gundam – Double Build Work in Progress #2

It took me a couple of hours after taking the photos shown in this post to actually write the post because I really don’t have anything notable about this part of the HGCE Force Impulse Gundam double build. I mean things are going smoothly as seen below.

Much like my other builds, I always start with the bust of the mobile suit, and here’s how the Force Impulse currently looks. Compared to the 2004 HG, this one looks way better thanks to the tweaked proportions and aesthetics. I also wanted to build the bust so that I can permanently attach the part of the Core Splendor that becomes the core block to the back. For these sections, I only painted the “V” on the torso and the gray sections of the shoulder vents.

On a related note, there was a local scale model show that happened last weekend, and I managed to get myself this set.

It took me a while but I finally caved in and got the Gunprimer Razer set. There have been discussions on whether getting this one is worth the price, especially after some have recommended alternatives. But I decided to pull the trigger and purchase one and just charge it to “hobby investments.” And you know what, it really works!

For a casual weekend builder like myself, I’m not exactly the most particular when it comes to nub marks. I don’t leave huge gates on the parts, but I also don’t spend a lot of time sanding everything. So, having the means to clean up parts faster and more efficiently should be a good addition to my build workflow. And boy this set works wonders. I’ll likely use it on parts that easily mark and those whose nubs would be very noticeable when not cut properly.

In any case, this double build should technically be cleaner from my previous ones thanks to this new tool in my arsenal.

Thoughts?
