It’s been a couple of months since the announcement of Gundam Breaker Battlogue, a multimedia project involving the Gundam Breaker Mobile game, the High Grade GUNDAM BREAKER BATTLOGUE model kits, and a similarly-titled series of animated shorts continuing the story of the mobile game. With the 6-episode Gundam Breaker Battlogue series set to premiere in October, they’ve now released the first trailer and it sort of feels more akin to Gundam Build Fighters?

To those unfamiliar, the story of Gundam Breaker Mobile is more similar to the Build Fighters concept that you’re battling with actual Gunpla than a digital version from Build Divers. But instead of directly building and customizing kits, you need to obtain parts via a “gacha game” mechanic that’s quite popular nowadays, with games like Genshin Impact and Fate/Grand Order to name a few.
Based on the clip, it looks like our two main characters would be using the Gundam Helios and the Blazing Gundam respectively — with the former being the third mobile suit of the “protagonist” from the games, while the latter is a new character. This kind of gives me more reasons now to get the HG Blazing Gundam, though I still don’t like its color scheme. The clip also shows our main antagonist who uses the equally menacing, yet awesome-looking Gundam Barbataurus. You can read this post to check out the new Gunpla announced for this project.
Now I know we’re still waiting for the next non-build/breaker Gundam series after Iron-Blooded Orphans. But I do think this is a good watch while waiting. As mentioned, Gundam Breaker Battlogue starts in October. You can also get the upcoming Gunpla from HobbyLink Japan.
