I admit to be quite disappointed with the Gunpla reveals during Bandai Spirits’ Hobby Next Phase thing, which was timed around Shizuoka Hobby Show 2021. I thought they’d pull a Figure-rise Standard and surprise us with more new kits but alas, we only got more details of previously revealed ones. But nevertheless, more information is always appreciated.

Keeping the Iron-Blooded Orphans train chugging along years after the series concluded, we are getting yet another new kit in the form of the HG Gundam Gremory. It appears in the side-story Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS Gekko along with Gundam Astaroth and Gundam Dantalion. The kit itself has several notable features, but the design itself is also notable for resembling a hooded figure wielding a sickle. Kind of similar with a rather popular Gundam who’s getting a High Grade kit this month.

Some of these features include sliding armor panels that would allow better articulation in the arms, as well as to reveal the hidden Gundam head within that armored cloak. It’s signature weapon, the Battle Anchor, is assembled as a damaged piece like in the source material. You can also split it into 3 parts so if you want to build a complete Battle Anchor, you can get another copy for that undamaged part. In any case, I’m tempted to get one just because it might look good with the upcoming HGAC Gundam Deathscythe.

October 2021 / ¥1,800

More details were also revealed on the MG Gundam Virtue, and the expected inclusion of the MG Gundam Nadleeh inside. I won’t delve into much details regarding this kit as I’m not really getting one, and many have already covered it. But I really like how the insides purged armor parts still have mechanical detail and not just hollow plastic parts. I’m also curious how they’ll do Nadleeh’s ‘hair’. It appears flexible and they’ve used similarly flexible materials in other kits but we’ll have to see when it gets released in November.
