Shizuoka Hobby Show 2026: New Series “Vertex Force” Goes 30 Minutes Preference?

Mecha fans are in for a treat in 2026 with the several productions set for release, including old franchises getting new installments and very interesting original stories. The latter is the case for Vertex Force, a Fall 2026 series from director Kazuhiro Takamura who previously helmed Strike Witches and Vividred Operation. I am well aware that both titles aren’t exactly the mecha powerhouses one would expect but the visuals alone do leave a huge room for curiosity.

And fortunately, we do have a teaser trailer as seen below.

Pardon the rather spicy thumbnail.

The teaser doesn’t give much either, although it provides a glimpse of the mecha aspects of the series, including what appears to be the “Engines,” to which I believe the blue mecha our lead heroine is seen using are called.

Mechanical designs are primarily by Kanetake Ebikawa who most would know for his work on Gundam 00 and Gundam AGE. And there’s what I believe is the main Engine Enia, which we’ll see as a model kit prototype later, and is designed by JNTHED who did the Vanadis Institute mobile suits from The Witch from Mercury. Other than what I mentioned, we only know the premiere date for this original anime, October 2026.

Since information is still thin for the actual story, let’s check out the reveals from the Shizuoka Hobby Show. Or rather, just a single reveal, though it does bring up an interesting point.

This the gray prototype of the 30MP ENIA from Vertex Force. From what I understood, the 30 Minutes Missions and 30 Minutes Sisters lines cater to original and game properties. Which is the reason why see Armored Core VI or Umamusume kits in both lines. On the other hand, 30 Minutes Preference seem to gear towards anime and manga properties, regardless of whether they’re mecha or character kits. That’s probably why the line offers kits from character kits from Bocchi the Rock! or the Rebuild of Evangelion films, and then a mecha kit of ENIA seen here.

ENIA has a sleek humanoid design coupled by an equally sleek color scheme, with mostly gray/silver with teal and black highlights to break the monotony. I will be curious on how the color separation on this kit would be, but based on the previous 30MP releases, my hopes are higher.

I will expect more details to drop as we inch closer to the release of Vertex Force in Fall, with 30MP ENIA being released a month after the anime premieres in November.
