Quickie, and Still More Patlabor: MODEROID Ingram Reactive Armor – FInally Getting Reissued!

MODEROID has been filling the Patlabor gap in my collection with their 1/60 scale kits, and while these kits are nowhere near perfect, they perfectly fit my collection. I’ve built a couple of them while a good number is still in the backlog. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include the MODEROID Ingram Reactive Armor as I decided to pass on it when it was first released, thinking it would get reissued quickly.

Well, I was wrong and prices began to skyrocket on the aftermarket. I was about to pull the trigger on one of the more expensive listings on Yahoo! Auctions when I got wind that it will be included in the latest wave of reissues. As they say, good things come to those who wait.

The Ingram in its Reactive Armor is seen from the film Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the Movie, and this kit allows you to choose whether to build Unit 1, 2, or 3, along with matching waterslide decals for the markings. An additional part for protecting the main camera of Unit 1 is also included.

The set also includes parts to build the base Ingram models used for data collection. This configuration doesn’t have the rising sun emblem on the chest, as well as the siren lights on the shoulders. I might need to buy another vanilla MODEROID Ingram kit to build the base body and just swap the head unit along with its matching shoulder armor.
