I’m Not Skipping This One: MODEROID MPL-97S Python

Still on Patlabor, while I’m passing up on the RG Ingram Plus, Good Smile Company comes with even more kits that I would gladly put on the pre-order cart, one of which is this guy.

This is the MODEROID 1/60 MPL-97S Python, is a second generation Labor and the first to be specifically manufactured for police use. It’s basically the predecessor of the AV-98 Ingram, which is a third generation Labor.

Contrary to the white Ingram, the Python cannot be mistaken for its primary intent for Police use with its blue colors that resembles the law enforcement body’s uniform in Japan. It also utilizes siren light bars attached to the back and the police emblem on the center of its chest.

Despite the rather vanilla design, the Python features a unique head design with large visor unit. For added protection, a face shield can be deployed to protect vital electronics and sensor units. This feature is completely replicated in the kit with actual moving parts and without using replacements.

MODEROID Python only comes with very few accessories. Besides the aforementioned shield, it also includes a long and short form of the Anti-Labor Stun Sticks, and the replacement manipulators to hold them.

As I mentioned in the RG Ingram Plus post, I do hope we’ll get MODEROID kits from Patlabor EZY. Though I totally don’t mind that Good Smile Company is giving us more of the lesser known labor units from the franchise. And no, I’m not skipping this one.
