People say what you do on January 1st is something you’ll do for the rest of the year. Let’s see if that holds.
As I alluded after the completion of my Duel Blitz Gundam double build, the HG Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model is one of the kits in the list I was contemplating to build next. I do have two kits remaining from The Witch from Mercury line and I am hoping to complete them before Gundam GQuuuuuuX starts.
Building a kit from The Witch from Mercury is always refreshing after a streak of SEED kits mainly due to the differences in design and kit engineering. That said, there is much familiarity with this kit as this is basically the same Lfrith kit with different parts. These are mostly in the head, chest and the storage racks of the “Chelonians” or the explosive GUND-Bits as seen in the prologue.
One part I wished this kit also shared with the vanilla Lfrith is the in-molded shell unit in the chest. This kit takes the approach of the other non-Vanadis Institute Gundams with a reflective sticker covered by a clear part for the shell unit. And while it looks alright, it doesn’t have the same glow as an in-molded part. Besides this, you get the fair share of bits and pieces that would also need paint, but not detrimental to the overall look of the kit if left untouched.
So, while I’m not totally rushing to get this build done the soonest, I’m inclined to think that I’m able to finish this guy over the weekend, let’s see.
