If I knew that we would get the packaging art for Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, I would’ve posted it along with the 30MM Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon kits from yesterday. In any case, while we’re still a month away from the Netflix premiere of Requiem for Vengeance on October 17, Bandai Spirits already decided to drop the box arts of the two kits previously announced. Polarizing designs aside, the illustrations themselves look amazing thanks to Japanese illustrator and character designer Hiroyuki Yamamoto.

For starters, the packaging design is the same as those of the unified HGUC line, except it’s not branded as an HGUC kit. Some are interpreting this omission as a sign of its non-canonicity within the Universal Century. Personally, I don’t really care about its canon status as long as the series tells a great story. I also don’t care about the opinions against the Gundam EX design since I do like how different, and non-heroic it looks. On a less serious note, someone mentioned on X (formerly Twitter) how there are so many logos on this box, and I totally agree. These include Bandai Namco, Bandai Spirits, Netflix, High Grade, and Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.

Naoki and Good Smile Company / Good Mecha Smile are slowly, but surely releasing more Titanomachia kits. This time being the first Reaper and Grim Reaper units. To those unaware, the piloted mecha in this world are classified into two categories as seen below.

There are the smaller Reapers, which are around 5 meters tall in real life, and the larger Grim Reapers at around 8 to 9 meters. These kits are both at 1/48 scale, with the Reapers clocking at 120mm and the Grim Reapers at around 175mm. I’m really curious on how these will turn out, given that Good Smile Company manufactured them, in contrast to the earlier Side: Exoskeleton kits which were made by Kotobukiya. Regardless, I do hope the quality will be consistent regardless of manufacturer.
