In no less than 10 years since the First Bloody Valentine War, mobile suit and mobile weapons technology in the Cosmic Era has progressed continuously, and aggressively. The Strike Gundam and its Striker Weapon System introduced interchangeable and modular weapon packs for various combat scenarios. However, there was also an idea to combine these packs for the ultimate mobile suit weapons platform.
This led to the Multiple Assault Striker which was a crude combination of the Aile, Launcher, and Sword Striker Packs. The resulting Perfect Strike Gundam configuration worked as expected, albeit not the most practical. ZAFT revisited this idea during the Second Bloody Valentine War with the Destiny Gundam, a more efficient and effective implementation of the same concept.
