Just the Mirage Oiseau to Go: HGUC Phantom Gundam Quad-Build – Work in Progress #3

I know I just posted an update on the HGUC Phantom Gundam quad-build earlier today, but there’s significant progress on these kits as the day ended so I might as well provide another update.

I still need to build the weapons, but the MS mode half of this quad-build is basically complete. And as mentioned, having painted the back skirt armor ahead allowed me to just proceed and complete these two.

Now that I’ve at least completed this kit in MS mode, I can say that for the reasons I’ve stated previously, doing this quadruple build is a necessity for me. Otherwise, I’d disassemble and reassemble the whole kit for Phantom Light effect and the Mirage Oiseau transformation. This is something I can tolerate on a Tamashii Nations figure, just like Villkiss from last week, but not on a model kit.

Out of the 4 boxes I have of this guy, I’ve already opened two though all the parts used just for the transformation are still in the runners. Meaning for the other two boxes, I’ll likely use the parts to build the arms, legs, and the binders — and I’ll have a lot of extra parts once complete.

Thoughts?
