Before going into my current dual build, here’s a quick update on the HG Mirasoul Flight Unit — and it’s done! I was able to get the particular shade of yellow I need to paint the main thrusters and thruster bells of this backpack. I’m not really a fan of painting thruster bells since I find them superfluous. But this flight unit looks really bare without the additional application of yellow, and so I painted them as needed. I’m still not a fan of painting thruster details though.
Going back into my current dual build and there’s great progress with Gundam Schwarzette over here. The upper half of the kit is essentially complete and I had to stop myself to get some progress started with Gundam Calibarn. At least, that’s the intent or the whole notion of a dual build wouldn’t make sense. The build itself was interesting, especially with the clever parts layering on the torso. You have a rather large white part that gets covered by the external armor just for those vents and collar sections to be color accurate.
For the next steps, while I mentioned stopping this build to start with the Calibarn, I might eventually just continue because of momentum until I get into the weapons, after which I’ll definitely shift to the other kit.
