Tencent Games ✕ Bandai Spirits: Figure-rise Standard "Ace Force"

Tencent Games ✕ Bandai Spirits: Figure-rise Standard "Ace Force"

Bandai Spirits hasn’t been doing a lot of mecha musume lately outside of a couple of kits from Gundam Build Divers/Re:RISE so it’s quite a surprise that they decided to collaborate with Chinese game publisher Tencent Games and release a couple of Figure-rise Standard kits based on the game Ace Force. And just a disclaimer, I don’t know anything about Ace Force but this is essentially Overwatch if it’s a mobile game. Here’s the trailer for reference.

As mentioned, I don’t know anything about the game or these characters, but I can always look at these CG render to check how the kits would look like.

Both kits are based on heavily armored female characters which are, while technically not mecha musume, fit the exoskeleton / powered armor mecha variant. The next CG render shows both kits featuring good parts separation as far as the weapons go. Though I’d much more appreciate it if the actual armor bits or even the face parts have the same level of color separation.

The first of these two kits is Butterfly which looks like an aerial shooter thanks to her jetpack. That face plate also gives me some Iron Man mixed with a kitsune (Japanese for fox) aesthetic. It doesn’t appear that the face plate is removable although I can already see a huge sticker sheet to come with this kit, especially for those yellow bits and the red highlights on the lower extremities. Still an interesting design nonetheless.

Then we have a kit of Ikawa Sakura [Spark] who’s essentially a fully armored Gatling gun-wielding girl with missile pods on her shoulders. if this isn’t fully loaded enough then I don’t know what is. What’s interesting is that she actually looks fine and kind of represents the more recent Figure-rise Standard girl kits, we’re still looking at you HGBF Super Fumina. As seen above, that huge Gatling gun does appear to have good parts separation though for we’re more concerned on her face. Checking on the HGBD:R Mobile Doll May kit, that one includes stickers and water slide decals for the eyes/optics so I’m hoping they’ll do the same for Spark over here. This actually makes me want to get either Mobile Doll Sarah or May just to check how these kits work.
