After a three-month break, Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE returns with a little bit disappointing recap episode. That said, this also tells the backstory of our beloved anthromorphic alien (?) Freddie and how he came to contact this new Hiroto and the rest of his new BUILD DiVERS team.
Given that it’s mostly a recap, I put my focus on the opening sequence as this is where they usually place some teases of stuff to come. That said (again), these are mostly stuff already revealed via earlier Gunpla announcements. Though I did notice something about this shot.
This was the last part during the quick montage of Hiroto’s Planets System-based Gundams. Bandai Spirits has already revealed every armor unit though we still don’t know which one is the Saturn-Six or the Neptune-Eight unit. The unit hidden in the shadows is clearly the Stargazer Gundam-based unit revealed in March. Oh, and I still don’t like its color scheme.
Would this be the final form of the Core Gundam and the Planets System for this season as the Jupitive Gundam was in season 1? We’ll have to wait and see. In other news, they’ve also revealed the name of the enemy Earthree Gundam ripoff that was also revealed last month.
This is the Alus Earthree Gundam which comes with the Alus Core Gundam. I really like how they’re now willing to give the Gundam moniker to designs which aren’t really Gundam-looking or lacking the visual callbacks of typical Gundam designs. This then brings of the question of who is Alus? Is it the name of the force attacking Eldora? Is it the bald guy seen during the season 1 penultimate? We’ll definitely have to see as new episodes of Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE drops every Thursday evening JST on the Gundam.info YouTube channel.
