Every once in a while someone would bring an image of that one hobby show where potential RE/100 kits were shown, only to be crushed by the reality of not a single one ever coming into fruition. The same can be said with another hobby show display where we would be getting all the Endless Waltz Gundams as Real Grades, following Wing Zero.
Well, it looks like Bandai Spirits pivoted for the Endless Waltz Gundams with this surprise reveal from All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2025.
In a moment totally out of left field, they’ve announced the HGCE Gundam Sandrock Custom EW! I’m not sure if Bandai didn’t see the profitability of these mobile suits as Real Grade kits, but I wouldn’t mind getting them as High Grades, especially with the modern engineering they are getting. We can also finally retire the High Grade Fighting Action kit which has been the only kit of this design in 1/144 scale.
While there’s not much revealed outside of these two photos and the display samples on the show floor, Sandrock Custom EW will come with the cloak seen in the OVA. Whether this is an actual soft goods cloth or made from hard plastic remains to be seen.
On a related note, this reveal also opens the possibility of those Cloaked Customs from the Gundam Wing 30th Anniversary special video getting kits. I just hope these won’t go the Premium Bandai route like their TV version counterparts.
