Obviously, these aren’t the only purchases I made this month, especially following my post from SuperManila Comic Con last week. But I do want to note these two items I picked up this weekend, while I was staying in a hotel for a staycation. Because why not?

I picked up the Transformers Timelines Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime & Starscream two-pack and for someone who always wanted the Mastermind Creations’ Knight Morpher Commander, having the official version finally puts this hunt in full circle. While most Optimus Prime figures nowadays are Voyager-class sized, I totally don’t mind this Deluxe-class figure, though it does transform into a rather small train mode. Fortunately for us, DNA Designs has this covered with this upgrade kit tease.

And then there’s Yotiro-Lab’s Go! Saga Mazinger Z, from a new manufacturer I have zero knowledge of. I just went with faith on this pre-order since I do like this redesign of the classic super robot. Taking the figure out of the box, it does give me the same impressions as a NECA figure, which isn’t exactly the best. But I do hope that things won’t start breaking off at a moment’s notice.
On that note, I do am getting a lot more Mazinger-related figures and kits recently. With Good Smile Company releasing MODEROID figures from both MazinSaga and Mazinger Destroying Hell. Not to mention Tamashii Nations and their Mazinger X figure from Grendizer U. Good times if you’re a Mazinger Z collector, bad times if you’re the wallet shelling out the cash to get them.
