Wait, I was Building Something: Option Parts Set Gunbarrel Striker – Work in Progress

I mentioned in my recent “Work in Progress Detour” post that I wasn’t building any kits after I completed my HG L-Gaim build. Well, I lied, since I was actually building something after that kit. I just got sidetracked in multiple directions.

I did want to build something easier so I went with the Option Parts Set – Gunbarrel Striker which was released earlier this year. The thing I like with these Option Parts Sets is how they’re as easy as Entry Grades and have better color separation than High Grades, at least for a good number. This is the case for the Gunbarrel Striker which adds yet Striker Pack to create a 1/144 scale Gunbarrel Strike Gundam, whether you choose the Entry Grade or HGCE.

Given that context, the build was very smooth. I primarily used a brown wash for the panel lines since the color scheme is generally warm. I also painted the underside of the clear green canopy/sensor part silver for better reflection. Other than these, I should be able to complete this guy the next time I get back to this build.

For the next kit in the queue, I do have the HG L-Gaim Mk-II on hand so I’ll likely pick that one. However, this is also around the time where the weather starts to become uncooperative when it comes to painting kits, at least from where I am. So, builds might slow down for the time being, but we’ll see.

Thoughts?
