Work in Progress Detour: “Triple D” Figure Maintenance

It’s been a couple of weeks since I made a work in progress post, or anything for that matter. Unfortunately, I don’t have a valid sounding reason besides just being busy at work. Although I did have some furniture assembly done in the last couple of weeks so there’s where my build efforts went.

That said, I was still able to use the time for some hobby work.

Super robot afficionados should be very familiar with the figure on the left, Dancouga. On the other hand, not many are familiar with Dancouga Nova, its 2007 spiritual successor. Both are part of the now-defunct GN-U Dou line from Yamato, now known as Arcadia. I’ll get more into this line when I post the CATALOGUE Entries for these two, but basically it’s Yamato’s attempt at a collectible mecha figure line, when similar lines were the craze around the mid-2000s. Then at the center is The Robot Spirits Dann of Thursday from Gun ✕ Sword.

Doing figure maintenance basically means putting some panel lines and applying a good layer of matte top coat. Whenever needed, I also do the retrobright process since Tamashii Nations don’t age really well, something I found out in the last year or so. I still have a couple of figure queued up for maintenance, but I believe I can now resume some builds.

Thoughts?
