“Pacific Rim: The Black” Drops March 4 on Netflix!

It’s been a couple of months or so since the last thing I heard of Pacific Rim: The Black, the Netflix animated series set to expand on the events of the two live action movies. But we have a new trailer, and a confirmed release date. And we’re quite close to it.

There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.

Pacific Rim: The Black is about the two siblings, Hayley and Taylor, as mentioned in the official description. I’m trying to figure out where this would fit in the current canon as it does appear that things are much more grim in Australia, mentioning that the time of Jaegers has passed. Meanwhile it’s kind of the opposite in Pacific Rim: Uprising where the Jaeger program is very much active. In any case, it won’t take long for us to find out as the show drops its first season on March 4, only on Netflix.
