Quickie! I’ll Gladly Pass Up on this Guy: Synergenex “Transformers” ✕ “Evangelion” Collaboration Figure Design Revealed

Takara Tomy via their T-Spark brand has previously teased a Transformers and Evangelion crossover figure as part of their Synergenex line. Though the tease only came with a silhouette which could represent anything. But after an announcement towards the end of last week, we finally have a look and the figure it will be based on.

Here’s a much, much larger of that illustration.

As expected for an Evangelion collaboration, the figure shares the iconic colors of Evangelion Unit-01. It’s going to be a heavy retool of the Takara Tomy-exclusive Legendary Optimus Prime figure released during Bumblebee‘s theatrical run. Which is then an upscale of the Evasion Mode Optimus Prime figure released during Transformers: Age of Extinction‘s run.

Besides the obvious color palette changes, visual elements unique to EVA-01 are also seen here, like the iconic single blade antenna, the shoulder pylons, and the purple and green pectoral plates covering the classic Optimus Prime windows.

No release information has been provided, but it’s safe to assume that I’m not getting this figure. If they used the Voyager-class Evasion Mode Optimus Prime figure then I might consider the purchase.

Thoughts?
