If you’ve been following this blog for a good while, then might’ve noticed that beginning in late 2022, I’ve been doing a series of “Stuff on the–” posts. The basic premise is that in the post-pandemic work environment, I opted to go to the office daily, which meant that I still a permanent desk where I can put some pieces from my collection on display. Unfortunately, that came to an abrupt end in mid-2024 when my former company decided to perform workforce streamlining.

Fortunately, I was able to secure a new job a couple of months after, though the company had an open desk policy, and no one gets a permanent workstation. At the same time, I was having one of the spare rooms in the house converted to a hobby storage room. And no, it’s not a full “man cave” but it does allow me to have easier access to my collection, especially kits in the backlog. It will also allow me to save on costs for renting the storage facility, though I am under contract until June 2025.

The room was finished in early September, and I was able to purchase Ikea desks and cabinets, along with several storage racks in the weeks that followed. So now, I’m just slowly picking up stuff from the storage provider. Besides storage, I will primarily use this room for taking photos, while I will still build kits in my usual workbench. I might also take some photos of the storage racks themselves once the kits have been organized there. They do look good once filled up with Gunpla boxes.
That’s also the reason why I wasn’t able to build any kits in the last couple of months or so, besides the usually rainy weather we have around that time, and me finding a new job. But as things have started to settle, I can resume building kits, which I already did a couple of days ago. It’s one of the kits shown above, can you guess which?
