He’s Finally Here… He’s MODEROID Bravern!

Just around the time when Bang Brave Bang Bravern started its broadcast, Good Smile Company, through its Good Mecha Smile brand, announced that they will be releasing figures and model kits from the series. We got an announcement of The Gattai version of Bravern and the MODEROID M2 Exceed Rhino. We also knew we would be getting a MODEROID Bravern at some point, probably not to steal sales from The Gattai version and now, they’ve finally revealed it. He’s here… MODEROID Bravern is finally here!

This red and white representation of super robot bravado looks as if he jumped out of our screens into plastic sprues you need to assemble. And while Bravern is technically non-scale, it’s meant to scale with the upcoming MODEROID M2 Exceed Rhino. In fact, they released this nifty size comparison, which also includes The Gattai Bravern.

The Exceed Rhino stands at 110mm, which is just a smidge smaller than your average 1/144 scale Gunpla. Bravern clocks at 175mm, reflecting how much taller he is compared to the standard Titanostride units in the series. And over at the upper-end benchmark, as one Hobby Clubhouse would say, is The Gattai version at 200mm.

He is that flexible.

As with other MODEROID releases, Bravern will come with a mix of colored sprues, which include clear green parts, pre-painted parts, and a sheet of color-correcting stickers to make it look good right out of the box. I will paint mine of course. It should also be articulated to replicate most of the poses seen in the series. From the serious ones, to the downright wacky.

For weapons, MODEROID Bravern comes with the Burn Blade, the Burn Blade Blaze Up effect parts in clear green, and Burn Axe which it can hold through the use of interchangeable hand parts. He shouldn’t have any issues doing the “Sunrise Pose.”

As a rather expressive super robot, MODEROID Bravern also comes with other dynamic hand parts, and three more face plates to interchange with his default face: a shouting face, a smiling face, and a masked face as seen in the first episode and that other episode that explains it all.

And of course, let’s not forget that MODEROID Bravern can also transform into Brave Thunder, through replacement torso and head parts. I just hope it doesn’t involve extensive disassembly and reassembly.

You can also attach the standard head parts while in Brave Thunder mode to make it look like his head is poking out, as he often does in the series. The Transformers community refers to this gimmick as “pooth.”

Yup, I’m definitely getting this. I unfortunately canceled my MODEROID M2 Exceed Rhino pre-order due to some circumstances a couple of months ago, but I believe I should be able to get one upon release without issues. Both kits should make for a good display and I hope we get more Bravern model kits, if that one episode where we saw model kits boxes is of any indication.
