Stuff on the Office Desk: More Silver Robot Kaijus

One of the primary reasons I’ve been putting some of my collection on the office desk is because I really don’t have enough space to display everything at home. Not to mention that there’s less dust floating inside the office. And so, to follow up the S.H.Monsterarts Mechagodzilla figure from Godzilla vs. Kong, I am putting another figure which has been in its box for the longest time.

This is the Chogokin Tamashii Mix Mechagodzilla (Ohrai Noriyoshi Illustration Ver.) based on an unused design for Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. It features a Mechagodzilla unit that’s a combination of three vehicles, a concept you’d often see in another Japanese tokusatsu, Super Sentai. It is an amazing design, though I

This version of Mechagodzilla is also part of the Tamashii Mix sub-brand, which spans several lines, and focuses on the strong collaboration between Tamashii Nations and artists to produce items with more flexibility. Do note that since this is a Chogokin figure and not part of the S.H.MonsterArts line, it’s not the most articulated figure but it does recreate the design-exclusive combination feature. It’s also very hefty with the healthy amount of diecast spread across several parts.

To be honest, I’m kind of having a robot/mecha kaiju kick lately and I’ll tell the result in the next post.

Thoughts?
