I’ve been placing collectibles on my office desk since 2022 and if you’ve been tracking these “Stuff on the Office Desk” posts, then you will notice one thing. I haven’t brought out any Gundams on display. It comes from my reluctance to put them, especially painted and top coated Gunpla, on display for extended periods as I’m afraid they’ll get dirty or worse, get discolored.
But I forgot that compared to my home, office buildings are less susceptible to dust and direct sunlight, which should technically prevent both my initial concerns. So, I finally decided to put a Gundam figure on display, with some Gunpla down the line.

This is the Metal Robot Spirits <Side MS> Xi Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash novels, the version with a more traditional Gundam design. In case anyone has forgotten, the Gundam Hathaway version of the Xi Gundam departs from this design to take a more aggressive aesthetic. And so, I will be keeping this figure as my 1/144-esque scale representation of that design, outside of the third party “Gundoom” kits. I also have it posed just like the HGUC box art.

I still have SND’s The One on the desk since I don’t think I’ll be taking CATALOGUE Entry photos of this figure any time soon. And both figures do look good together, so I’ll keep this display for the time being.
