Chinese model manufacturer SNAA has made an update on their Weibo account with full color images of the BE 1/144 Thunder Incise Grace, first revealed as gray prototypes last week. It initially appeared to be a fully original design, but following these new full color shots, it looks like it definitely had some inspiration.

There aren’t that many Gundams with such color scheme and at first glance, you can immediately see where the inspiration was taken from. That would be the Gundam Asmoday from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr Hunt. The same is true with the forearm cannons since the Asmoday also had one. Design inspirations aside, you still can’t deny how good this kit looks, coupled with the great articulation they’ve been consistently highlighting.

Speaking of the Asmoday, I remember doing a color study on how I’ll paint the kit if I get one.

The color scheme is mostly the same, though I opted to replace the neon yellow highlights with a darker and more subdued hue. I did the same with Thunder Grace Incise and it came out like this.

The difference from the original colors is also subtle though it will add more contrast to the otherwise lighter primary colors. At least I will have some sort of a test run before getting the actual kit.
On a related note, I do feel the need to catch up on some of the Urdr Hunt kits now that we’re getting somewhat closer to the animated film version. I only have the Hajiroboshi 2nd Form, and I still need to get its 1st Form, as well as the Marchosias.
