Being the Iron Man nut that I am, one of the things I’m really looking forward to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the introduction of Riri Williams, who carries on Tony Stark’s legacy, as Ironheart. We did see a glimpse of Riri, played by Dominique Throne, in the teaser for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever though I’m not expecting her to go full Ironheart in that movie.
She will, though, in Ironheart, her own titular Disney+ series which is currently scheduled to be released in Fall 2023. Principal photography is currently takin place and naturally, we are starting to get leaks and set photos from the shoot, including what could be her earlier Ironheart armor.
Compared to what I assume is a much earlier version of her armor from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as seen in this Funko POP solicitation, this version is more refined but still rudimentary. We can also see similarities between this version and one of the earlier models from the comics, as seen below.
Like the other Disney+ series, we can assume that Riri would eventually get her more recognized armor as the series ends. Though I would also love to have a figure of this version via a Marvel Legends release or one from the Japanese figure manufacturers. It’s still a long way to go before we hear anything substantial as far as the merch goes, but I’m still looking forward to Ironheart regardless.
