Apparently, Wonder Festival 2022 Winter managed to push through and happened last weekend. Although there’s not much really to talk about as far as me and my collector biases are concerned. Or in other words, I didn’t find that much interesting stuff from the show floor. Except for one, I guess?
Evangelion 3.0+1.0 putting a bookend to the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, and the main story essentially, doesn’t mean the merchandising would also stop, not at all. In fact, we still have a lot of ancillary media to milk more merch. This includes Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA that tells an alternate story from what we got, which also includes alternate Evangelion units.
This is the case for Evangelion EURO-II Heurtebise, which is built from leftover parts from Evangelion Unit-02, hence the semblance. I’m not really familiar with the lore though I have to admit, this unit and that large backpack unit look really good. Besides the samples on the show floor, not much has been revealed outside of its 2022 release date.
This is also not the first Evangelion Evolution figure released from Evangelion: ANIMA as they did Super Evangelion some years back. I’m still tracking a copy and I’m hoping they do reissue it to coincide with Evangelion EURO-II over here.
