We’re finally into 2022 and one of the things I’m looking forward to this year is the second season of ULTRAMAN, which would be three years after the first in 2019. Especially with the prospect of finally getting all 6 Ultraman in their awesome suits, paralleling the original Ultra Brothers from the Showa-era shows. That said, we have no idea of what the plot would be, especially if you’re just watching the anime and not reading the manga. Thankfully, they’ve dropped the official trailer of this season along with the premiere date on Netflix. Let’s check it out below.
The trailer reveals an incident where people from two separate cities, Tokyo, and New York, suddenly disappear, apparently including Shinjiro Hayata. The enemies then make an ultimatum of surrendering half the human population or they’d eliminate this half, quite similar to what Thanos did in Avengers: Infinity War. We are also introduced to a new character, Kotaro Higashi, a journalist investigating the incident. He’s going to become Taro and will don the Taro Suit.
But what I really want to see is Jack in that large Jack Suit which is giving me some Hulkbuster vibes. We’ve yet to see any announcements of a model kit for this guy but given that we already have solicitations for Zoffy and Taro, he’ll definitely follow afterwards. In any case, I am looking forward to season 2 of ULTRAMAN when it drops to Netflix on April 14.
