It took us around a month but the end of January 2026 came with the newest set of Transformers leaks, this time for Age of the Primes. As of this post, we’re down to Nexus Prime, Liege Maximo, and Vector Prime to complete The Thirteen and these leaks cover the first two. With the first one definitely stirring up discourse online.

Nexus Prime is the progenitor of combiners like Devastator and Predaking with the power of the Enigma of Combination. It’s only incarnation prior to this figure is the Transformers Collectors Club exclusive as Nexus Maximus, and is an actual combiner consisting of five figures released in the span of five years. For the Age of the Primes version, they went ahead with a non-combining figure with the design taking inspiration from the Transformers One iteration as seen below.

While I don’t have any issues with the design selection, the leak definitely sparked discussions on the choice to not make Nexus Prime a combiner, which many argue to be the core of the character. While not a combiner, it can still transform into a nondescript flight mode, adding more to the said discouse. Here’s hoping more information on the design choices come out once the figure is officially revealed.

Look, I have close to zero knowledge on Liege Maximo outside of the fact that he’s supposed to be the counterforce to the good represented by the rest of The Thirteen. Although the lore often mention Megatronus Prime to be the practical evil character thanks to the shenanigans he had with Solus Prime. Still, Liege Maximo does have the horns associated with Unicron so there’s that.
I’m not sure what his artifact is supposed to be, but he transforms to yet another nondescript, and organic-looking vehicle that looks like it has a monoeye with its tongue sticking out. Again, nondescript is the operative term.

And in case anyone’s curious, his Transformers One incarnation can’t be farther from the design Hasbro went with for Age of the Primes.

This just leaves us with Vector Prime as the remaining Prime to get his Age of the Primes rendition. He just got a figure from Legacy: United though that is the Transformers: Cybertron version so I’m still expecting him to appear in this line.
