If you’re an Evangelion collector, specifically of the mecha (I know artificial human, what have you), then you must have noticed that we’ve been bombarded by kits and figures from Rebuild of Evangelion. It makes perfect sense since it’s the more recent iteration of the franchise. That being said, the Evangelions from Neon Genesis Evangelion has a specific look that can’t just be solved by repainting these new model kits.
Just like how the TV versions of Gundam Wing designs are getting more appreciation nowadays, the TV versions of the Evangelions should also get the same. And Blokees has us covered.
Coming from China Toy Expo 2025, Blokees has announced their Legend Edition of model kits covering the TV designs. I won’t pretend to be familiar with Blokees’ offerings since they do have a whole slew of products covering a whole slew of franchises. But they did release their Action Edition Rebuild of Evangelion kits, or is it just EVA-01? Either way, these newly announced ones are from their Legend Series and based on the display on the show floor, they are planning EVA-01, EVA-00, and EVA-02.
Besides the fewer applications of neon green, the TV version has distinctly wider shoulders that give them more menacing silhouettes. I haven’t built any of their offerings so I can’t exactly comment on the quality of their releases. But most of the Transformers collectors I follow like them so there’s a good chance I might as well. That said, if I’m getting this kit, then I’ll need to get their Action Edition EVA-01 from the Rebuild movies as well. Hopefully they’ll be in-scale with each other.
Until then, we can only wait until official solicitations drop for these newly-announced items.
